Motherwell have rejected a transfer offer for striker Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, according to a report.

The offer came from Norwegian club Viking FK and is said to have amounted to £800,000 for a player signed by the Fir Park side from A-League side Newcastle Jets last year.

However, that bid fell 'well short' of Motherwell's valuation of the 26-year-old, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Lanarkshire men are not actively looking to sell the Australia cap.

Meanwhile, Motherwell are also braced for a bid from Udinese for teenage star Lennon Miller.

But manager Jens Berthel Askou denied claims the 18-year-old was already in Italy for signing talks.

He said: "There’s nothing new on Lennon. He wasn’t able to be here tonight but we will hopefully see him tomorrow.

"There are a lot of rumours about Lennon Miller, and I’ve heard a lot of funny stories and rumours, but the thing is he’s still a Motherwell player and we’re very happy to have him here.

"When there’s something concrete to comment on, we will."
