Rangers suffered another defensive injury blow late last night.

With the news emerging from Hampden Park that John Souttar had pulled up in the warm-up, and had to be withdrawn from Steve Clarke's starting XI, Danny Rohl would have been concerned.

Now, during the early hours of the morning GMT, Derek Cornelius has added to that problem.

The centre half lasted just 30 minutes for Canada as they defeated Venezuela 2-0 on the road.

The Gers defender had missed his nation's previous game against Ecuador due to a muscle injury.

It seems there are further concerns over the fitness of the 27-year-old after he had to be subbed off during the first half of the encounter.

Both Cornelius and Souttar will be assessed by Rangers' medical staff upon their return to Auchenhowie later this week.

It remains to be seen how long either player will be missing for.

Rangers are due to play Livingston at Ibrox this Saturday afternoon.
