Danny Rohl has explained why Rangers are bringing in set-piece coach Scott Fry.
The 47-year-old has been head of set pieces at Lincoln City since 2024 and has been identified by the Ibrox club as the man to come in and try and give them an advantage from dead balls.
The new head coach has been keen to make a hire in that position and Fry was found through data which shows his success at the EFL side.
Rangers announced the appointment yesterday and Rohl has now said: “We have Scott Fry now and it was very important for me to get the best man for this part of the game, a lot of goals come from set-pieces.

“If you are drawing a game then if you have a set-play coach, then it gives you a good opportunity to score.
“You have a lot to do and it is important if you have an expert around you who is working 24/7 for set-pieces, then he will help us a lot.“It is about bringing things from the meeting room onto the pitch and for this you need a specialist.
“We looked through the data and who has the best data in set pieces, what makes sense and what is possible in the market and we found a shortlist.
“I spoke to some guys and in the end Scott did really well in the meeting, he has a clear idea of what he wants to do and identity in set pieces and I am very happy to get him here.”
