Napoli boss Antonio Conte has confirmed Scotland star Billy Gilmour will be out of action for at least two months after undergoing surgery.
The former Brighton and Chelsea midfielder has been sidelined since the start of last month with a groin injury.
He was forced to miss Scotland's historic qualification for their first World Cup in 28 years after Steve Clarke's side defeated Denmark at Hampden, as well as the defeat in Greece.
Gilmour went under the knife yesterday and he won't be back in action until February, according to the Napoli boss.

Conte said: "Billy Gilmour will have surgery on Monday and will miss two months.
"It's another absence for us. This adds to the absences of Frank Anguissa and Kevin De Bruyne.
"These injuries have practically emptied our entire midfield."
The 24-year-old playmaker has made 12 appearances for Napoli this season and scored his first goal for the club in September in a win against Pisa.
