Santos have rejected a £2 million offer for Alfredo Morelos, after the former Rangers star was named Best Player of 2025 in Colombia.

The controversial 29-year-old hitman has returned to the Brazilian giants after a successive loan spell at Colombian club Atletico Nacional.

He was honoured in an awards ceremony this week when he was named as Colombia's best player for the year.

Atletico are desperate to make the loan move permanent and made the offer of £2million to land Morelos.

Nacional are expected to return with another offer imminently, but Santos are content to wait because Morelos is still under contract for another year.

He netted 12 goals and provided nine assists this season as he helped his club to a league and cup double.
