Aberdeen will have to break an incredible hex on Saturday if they want to hold onto their Scottish Cup; they have never beaten Motherwell at home in the competition in their history.

And it's a hoodoo that stretches back 101 years. The Dons host a Motherwell side who have already knocked them out of the Premier Sports Cup this season with a 1-0 win in September at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen have hosted Well in the Scottish Cup on five occasions, with the first time being back in 1925. And they have never defeated the Fir Park side at home in the Scottish Cup.

The last time the Dons were Scottish Cup holders in 1990, they were knocked out of the competition by a late Steve Kirk goal in the third round the very next season. Motherwell went on to win the Scottish Cup for the second time in their history that season.

Aberdeen could only draw 0-0 with Motherwell in 1925 and have also played them at home in the Cup in 1953, where they drew 5-5.

Motherwell also won a Scottish Cup quarter final at Pittodrie in 1975 thanks to a Bobby Graham goal and in 2012, the sides drew 1-1 in the north east.
