Martin O'Neill has given an update on the club's pursuit of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the Celtic manager confirming a move is close for the midfielder.
Late on Thursday, reports suggested that the former Arsenal and Liverpool player had agreed a deal until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Now, in the process of previewing his side's Scottish Cup match against Dundee, O'Neill has revealed that Oxlade-Chamberlain's move to Celtic is imminent, pending a medical. "I spoke to him this morning. I think he wants to come and I think he is coming," he said.

"I would have assumed he’s got a number of options. I think there was even talk about Arsenal, where he’s training, might take him on because they might pick up a couple of injuries. I’m delighted that he’s going to come, so he says. I think he’s doing a medical tomorrow, and all being well, I’m hoping that he signs on.
