Findlay Curtis has been identified as someone Heart of Midlothian should target this summer, with pundit Michael Stewart urging the Edinburgh club to test Rangers' resolve.

The 19-year-old forward earned a surprise call-up to Scotland’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, despite limited first-team opportunities at Rangers earlier in the season.

A loan move to Kilmarnock proved pivotal, with Curtis registering five goals and one assist in 14 appearances. His decision to seek regular football was praised by Scotland boss Steve Clarke, with his strong form at Rugby Park ultimately securing his place in the national squad.

With Rangers closing in on a deal for Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, Stewart believes the Tynecastle side should consider moving in the opposite direction.

“If I were Hearts, they need to be at a stage where if Curtis isn’t going to be getting the game time that he needs or should get at Rangers, they should be going and making a bid,” he said on Premier Sports.

“Spend a little money and speculate because you know this guy is a difference-maker.

"He’s top class, and you would make that money back tenfold.”
