Ryan Naderi has described his Czechia international debut as the "biggest game of his life" after being convinced to play for the country by Pavel Nedved.
The Rangers striker has had a strong start to the season in Glasgow and scored the winner against Celtic before jetting off to play in the Nations League on the international break.
He made his debut for his country against Spain off the bench and despite being on the losing side of a 3-1 scoreline, the 23-year-old was chuffed to make his mark.
Speaking to the media after the game, the forward explained how proud he was to pull on the jersey and he revealed a phone call from former Ballon d'Or winner Nedved convinced him to pledge his future to the Czechs despite having Germany and Bulgaria as other options.
"I feel unbelievable," he said. "It was amazing to be on the field. I really enjoyed it. Of course I was a little nervous because it's a huge match, the biggest of match my life so far. I wanted to enjoy it."
On Nedved's intervention, Naderi said: "When he said to me, ‘Son, do you fancy playing for the Czech Republic?’ It was a really nice moment."
