FORSTER: Very little to do but cracking save to deny Ciprian Deac in the second period. 7
ELHAMED: Solid display from the fullback. Got up and down the flank in support of Forrest and played his part in a strong performance from Celtic’s back four. 7
JULLIEN: Defensively impressively, particularly in the air. Came close twice in the second period with two headers inside a minute. His first effort was saved by Giedrius Arlauskis, his second ended up on the roof of the net. Came close again in the second period as Celtic looked to cement their lead. 7
AJER: Better from the young Norwegian as he matures into the central defensive role. Building a decent partnership with Jullien. 7
BOLINGOLI: Confident and assured display as he worked his way up and down the left-flank. Turned in the cross for Edouard to net and tried his luck with a long range effort that went just over the bar. 7

FORREST: Usual industrious shift as he worked his socks off on the right side. Movement good and Celtic’s most likely source of a second goal with his incursions into the box. Winger’s run which set up Elyounoussi’s goal. 7
BROWN: Typical Brown performance as he hustled and harried in the middle of the park. One moment towards the end of the opening period when his pirouette on the ball drew the applause of the home support. 8
McGREGOR: Caused a stir when deployed at left-back in August when Cluj put Celtic out of the Champions League. Excellent last night in the central pastures. Huge role in the build-up to first goal of the night when he set up Bolingoli. Booked. 8
CHRISTIE: Breathed a little easier after Mario Rondon was booked for diving in the box as he closed in on him. Screwed one effort wide in the second period but worked his socks off. 7
ELYOUNOUSSI: Picked an ideal time to net his first goal for the Parkhead side. Got himself on the end of Forrest’s pass to steer the ball into the net to give Celtic the chance to breathe a little easier. 7
EDOUARD: Quiet by his own standards but rose to glance Bolingoli’s cross into the net and bag his ninth goal of the season, four of which have come in European competition. 7
HAYES: On for final minutes as Celtic saw the game out. 3
NTCHAM: Last minute sub as Celtic ran down the clock. 3
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
