Ange Postecoglou was delighted with Celtic's first-half showing against Kilmarnock - but was less than impressed by the second.
The Hoops powered into a 4-0 lead after 27 minutes - with Kyogo also missing a penalty - and it looked like Derek McInnes' men were in for an almighty hiding.
But the introduction of captain Gary Power and some slack Celtic play saw Killie claw back a consolation and keep the goals conceded column to four.
And while Postecoglou was happy with the overall display, he bemoaned a "sloppy" performance after the break.
He told BBC Scotland: "We were outstanding first half. The boys were bringing their football, our attitude and our intent. It was a big game last week so you're kind of looking to make sure the boys are still focused and it was outstanding. Second half we got a bit sloppy, never really got into any sort of rhythm, lot of stop-starts. But overall, knowing the challenge that was there before us today, a great job.
"I thought it the start was important. I mentioned before the game I thought we needed some energy and the guys coming in I thought it gave us that. The whole group in general really sort of came out with real intent. As I said, it was a big game last week so there's always a danger after having such a big win that maybe the boys are not right at it but they were great."
Kilmarnock came back into the game and stemmed the flow successfully in the second half, a situation Postecoglou put down to sloppy elements creeping into his side's game.
He said: "They got a little bit more aggressive and we got a little bit sloppy with some of our passing and some of our movement. It's a timely reminder to us that we still could've scored goals but we weren't anywhere near as fluid. But the boys stuck strong in there and done what they needed to do."
And the Hoops manager was also impressed by the displays of his recent signings from the J-League.
"I thought they were brilliant," he beamed. "Tomoki [Iwata] was excellent in midfield and Yuki [Kobayashi] it's a big physical challenge on that surface and I thought he handled it really well.
"It was good to get Sead Haskabanovic some minutes so yeah the boys who came in did a good job."
