Rangers remain in talks with both Kevin Muscat and Danny Rohl as they look to appoint a new manager.
However, Muscat is the most likely to be offered the job. The Australian took over from Rohl as the bookies' favourite for the job after it emerged he was in the frame and the former Ibrox defender appears to be a popular choice among fans.
As per Rangers Review, sources have confirmed the process remains ongoing with discussions still being held with both candidates. Both have support from key figures at the club.
It is understood, though, that the Shanghai Port boss is the frontrunner and the most likely option.

Rohl impressed when spoken to last week and was understood to be keen to get started given big games against Dundee United, Brann and Kilmarnock are on the horizon. But fans and pundits have expressed concerns over him having a similar profile to the sacked Russell Martin, and a relative inexperience.
It is believed the German would want to appoint former club captain Lee Wallace, currently coaching at Hearts, to his backroom team.
Should Muscat land the job as expected, there is the added complication of his Shanghai Port side being in a title race with fixtures running until November 22. Rangers have some huge games in that period, including a Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Celtic.
Neil McCann is a contender to be the 52-year-old's No.2 and could take over in the interim until he arrives. Although under-19s coach Steven Smith is currently in charge on the training pitch and could be asked to take the Dundee United game on Saturday.
