Scottish Football Writers' Association award nominations released

The 2025/26 nominations for the Scottish Football Writers' Assoication awards have been released.

For Manager of the Year, Hearts' Derek McInnes will be looking to complete a treble after winning the PFA and Glen's Premiership awards.

However, he faces competition from Celtic's Martin O'Neill, Falkirk's John McGlynn and Jens Berthel Askou of Motherwell.

For the SFWA Player of the Year, the shortlist is exactly the same as for the PFA Scotland award. That means Hearts pair Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga are up against Motherwell duo Elijah Just and Tawanda Maswanhise.



The Young Player of the Year category sees Rangers youngster Findlay Curtis, on loan at Kilmarnock, shortlisted along with Luke Graham of Dundee, Falkirk's Barney Stewart and Andrew Tod of Dunfermline.

In the SWPL, leaders Hearts' Georgia Timms is nominated for Player of the Year along with Lee Gibson of Glasgow City, Maria McAneny of Celtic and Katie Wilkinson of Rangers.

The Young Player of the Year will be contested by Lisa Forrest of Glasgow City and Rangers trio Laura Berry, Mia McAulay and Jodi McLeary.
