Argyll and Bute council wish to close the Peace Camp at Faslane, calling it an eyesore. Let the council look at the head of Loch Long, which as a tourist guide I visited with a coachload of tourists, to see a real eyesore, a rubbish-strewn foreshore.
Why don't the authorities do something about that instead of removing the camp, which at least serves to distract from the awfulness of Faslane base?

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
