Oban Camanachd won the Bank of Scotland Celtic Society Cup with a 3-2 win over Kyles Athletic after extra time - but they had to do so without the services of striker David McCuish.
The club are upset about the ban, until January 1, 1998, handed out last week to McCuish for head-butting an Inveraray opponent.
Oban now have three key players serving lengthy sentences and there is talk of a legal challenge to the Camanachd Association's decisions.
Dougie MacIntyre was the Oban hero in the cup with a hat trick, scoring the first after only four minutes.
Thanks to an outstanding performance by full back Alex MacVicar, it was the seventy-fifth minute before Kyles could respond, equalising through Fraser MacDonald.
With neither team able to make the breakthrough, the game moved into extra time, and the second period of this provided all the excitement, Dougie MacIntyre scoring twice before Neil Nicolson netted near the end.
Ronald Ross netted five in Kingussie's 7-1 win over Inveraray, confirming his position as the perfect scoring machine with 81 goals so far this season.
Caberfeidh won the North division one championship with a 1-1 draw at Portree, although the visitors were under pressure for most of the game.
However, right on the half-hour mark Willie MacLennan slipped the ball to brother Stuart to put Caberfeidh ahead, and Skye could only pull the match back to level through Robbie MacDougall.
Caberfeidh will have to wait some time to find out who will be their opponents in the play-off from the premier division place since South division one has a number of games to play and looks to be heading for a tie between Ballachulish and Glenorchy, which will require a preliminary play-off.
The Bank of Scotland Primary Cup final will take place on An Aird, prior to the Glenmorangie Camanachd Cup final for the first time ever.
The news was welcomed as a huge boost to the profile of the junior game, and will encourage greater attendances at the main event.
The quarter-final stages of the competition take place this week. In the MacKay Cup final, the knock-out competition for primary schools, St Columba's of Oban won 6-2 over Fodderty.
