ROUND-UP

IN Division One of the SRU Tennents National League, top of the table Aberdeen GS FP beat Edinburgh University 17-6, thanks to Keith Oddie's four penalties and a try from Fraser Sutherland. Stewartry went down 27-19 to Trinity Accies at Bangholm but retain second spot with East Kilbride dropping a point at home to Duns in a 24-all draw.

In division two, Hutchesons'/ Aloysians ran out 54-14 winners at Ardrossan thanks to their powerful pack. Top scorers for the victors were No.8 Trevor Carmichael and full back Jamie Doran, who each claimed a hat trick, the other tries coming from Phil Dolan, Craig Brown, and skipper Cammy Kyle. Doran kicked the other points. Ardrossan stand-off Mark Hogarth scored all his side's points.

Division three leaders Annan played third-placed Lismore and returned home with the points, winning 25-13, their tries coming from flanker Billy Henderson and wingers Chris Donabie and Stephen Rae. Gordon Carmichael converted two and added a penalty.

In division four, Ross High maintained their unbeaten run, winning 18-9 at Hillfoots, tries coming from Urwin and Mercer. Second placed Madras travelled to Clydebank and salvaged a draw with a late Cruickshank try and McCrotie's conversion.

Falkirk were Garnock's latest victims in division five. Coach Andy King notched three scores, the other tries coming from Ally Anderson and Ewan Jeans with Kirk Jacobson kicking four penalties and three conversion.s

Lenzie beat second-placed Murrayfield 24-22.

There were no upsets in division six. Leaders Whitecraigs winning 45-10 at home to Cumnock.

Helensburgh remain top of division seven, winning 20-0 at RAF Lossiemouth.
