A cornerstone of Glasgow’s Ashton Lane has today revealed its plans for the festive season including Christmas dinners that bring the best of Scottish produce to the table and lively Hogmanay celebrations.

The Ubiquitous Chip is set to transform its bars, restaurants, and roof terrace into a ‘one-stop winter wonderland’, as the team sees out the year with a selection of special menus and live entertainment.

Those in search of a seasonal feast should look no further than The Restaurant where a set menu priced at £60 per person is brimming with festive fare like Eyemouth crab, Tweed Valley rib eye, Shetland cod, Cumbrian turkey, Lanark blue, and Manjari chocolate.

The Herald:

For a selection of ‘Scottish classics with a twist’, make your way Upstairs at the Chip where you’ll find turkey schnitzel with roasted sprouts and pancetta, hake fillet with smoked haddock cream or sesame roast cauliflower with crispy rice and cashew.

Also on offer will be the ‘eternally popular’ venison haggis, neeps, tatties and whisky sauce as well as clootie dumpling and eggnog, and cranberry or poppyseed sponge trifle for dessert as part of a set menu priced at £45 per person.

Elsewhere the venue’s Corner Bar will provide a welcome pitstop for visitors to the lane, with warming Christmas favourites including hot toddies and Bailey’s hot chocolate.

The roaring log fire will be lit at The Big Pub, where a new cocktail list features a mulled negroni that's sure to be a hit for fans of the classic apéritif.

The Herald:

Finally, the West End’s only roof terrace space will be thoroughly winter-weatherproofed with heaters, cosy blankets and atmospheric candlelight.

Looking forward to the new year The Chip will offer the opportunity to take in the bells with friends and family as visitors are greeted by a bagpiper on Hogmanay.

Both The Restaurant and Upstairs at The Chip will once again serve separate set menus to celebrate the occasion, with live music later provided by The StereoBeats as they prepare for the bells.
