Aldi’s own Scottish Gin has been named the best in the world as a prestigious award ceremony.
The supermarket’s Còmhla Handcrafted Scottish Gin claimed the top prize at the World Gin Awards 2025.
It saw off competition from gins from places such as USA, Germany, China and elsewhere with the judging panel praising its flavour and ‘exceptional’ quality.
The gin is sold for £19.99 in Aldi and was up against premium bottles that cost a lot more money when it was selected as the winner.
The classic London Dry gin is said to feature a ‘well-balanced blend of juniper, coriander and citrus’ and was described as both ‘elegant’ and ‘beautifully balanced’ by the judges at the awards.

It is the latest award for the gin, which was launched by Aldi in 2023, having picked up the Gold and Best in Country at The World Drink Awards 2025.
