A new Scottish restaurant has been added to the Michelin Guide, just months after its opening date.

Throughout the year, Michelin updates its listings with new spots across Great Britain and Ireland that stand out for their cooking, consistency and overall dining experience, offering a snapshot of restaurants currently impressing its inspectors.

The latest Scottish addition to the guide is Eleven Fifty Five, a 'friendly bistro' in Glasgow from chef Peter McKenna.

The guide says: "Nestled within the trendy Finnieston neighbourhood, this friendly bistro comes from the team behind The Gannet, which previously occupied this site.

"The tantalising à la carte opens with snacks (look out for oysters served multiple ways) and lightly glazed milk bread with whipped butter, before moving onto more substantial dishes such as a generous helping of Barra cockles with Café de Paris butter.

"Be sure to check out the chalked-up specials too, and start your visit at the bar with a martini, Manhattan or, as you’re in Scotland, a Rob Roy."

Alongside maître d’ and business partner, Kevin Dow, McKenna launched Eleven Fifty Five in February this year.

Following the closure of The Gannet, which was also listed in the Michelin Guide, the duo aimed to introduce the city to an 'upscale yet approachable' neighbourhood bistro celebrating Scottish produce while honouring McKenna’s Irish roots.

At the time, the chef said: “To me, this feels like a natural evolution.

“We’ve stripped the restaurant back and built it up again, creating a space and menu that will draw you back time and time again.

“It’s good, honest hospitality with no gimmicks, just great produce cooked with care and respect, and a drinks list that is second to none."

Eleven Fifty Five joins the likes of Lucky Yu and Dogstar in Edinburgh as new Scottish additions to the Michelin Guide in 2026.
